3 NIGHTS ON THE DISNEY WISH: Bahamian Magic & First-Time Flights

This trip was full of exciting firsts for our family! It was our very first Disney Cruise, and even more thrilling, my son Hunter’s first time flying. Traveling with myself, Hunter, and my mother, this three-night Bahamian sailing out of Port Canaveral was the perfect blend of relaxation, characters, and incredible shows.

  • Day 01 / Travel & Arrival in Orlando

    Our vacation started before we even saw the ocean, making our way down to Florida for a pre-cruise stay.

    • Taking Flight: We flew out on American Airlines, kicking off the adventure with Hunter’s very first flight!

    • Hyatt Regency MCO: To make embarkation morning as easy as possible, we stayed overnight right inside the Orlando airport at the Hyatt. This is a game-changer for early travel days!

  • Day 02 / Embarkation & First Impressions

    Getting on the ship was an absolute breeze thanks to Disney's seamless logistics.

    • The Magic of DCL Transport: Because we stayed at the Hyatt, DCL completed our check-in right at the hotel. We left our luggage in our room for the DCL staff to collect, hopped on the Disney transport to Port Canaveral, and walked right onto the ship! Our bags magically appeared in our cabin later.

    • Exploring the Wish: Our very first stop was checking out the incredible Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. Afterward, we hit the Sail Away Party, toured the amazing Kids Clubs, and got a feel for the ship.

    • Dinner & A Movie: We enjoyed a beautiful dinner at 1923, followed by some competitive Star Wars trivia. We ended our first night at midnight, watching Indiana Jones under the stars on the deck funnel screen.

  • Day 03 / Nassau (Ship Day!) & Marvel Magic

    Since the ship itself is a destination, we decided to stay onboard while docked in Nassau to enjoy the amenities with lower crowds.

    • Galactic Encounters & AquaMouse: We met Rey and Chewbacca, rode the AquaMouse water coaster multiple times, and spent hours lazing by the pool watching classic Disney movies on the big screen.

    • Mickey's Festival of Food: For lunch, we hit up the ultimate pool deck food court for BBQ, burgers, chicken tenders, and, of course, endless soft-serve ice cream cones.

    • World of Marvel: Dinner was an action-packed experience! We dined at the World of Marvel, complete with a visit from Spider-Man and a very special surprise birthday serenade for Hunter.

  • Day 04 /Castaway Cay & Arendelle

    This was the ultimate beach day on Disney's private island, packed with sun, sand, and shows.

    • Fueling Up: We started the day right with Mickey churro waffles at Marceline Market, followed by a quick stop in the Hyperspace Lounge for some epic lightsaber pictures.

    • Island Time: We took the quick tram ride to the family beach and grabbed some of the plentiful lounge chairs. Hunter jumped right into the ocean and made some new friends. We hit the snorkeling area and the ocean waterslides—he loved it so much I practically had to drag him back to the ship!

    • Evening Entertainment: Back onboard, we met a roaming Droid, played a highly competitive game of BINGO, and watched the spectacular Aladdin stage show while consuming buckets of popcorn.

    • Arendelle: Our final dinner was a royal celebration featuring visits from Anna, Elsa, and Olaf while we ate.

  • Day 05 /Disembarkation & Heading Home

    All good things must come to an end, or as we like to call it, the day they kicked us off the ship!

    • A Final Farewell: Since we had mid-afternoon flights, we took our time with a lovely sit-down breakfast in Arendelle, followed by one last walking tour of the ship.

    • Heading Home: We walked off the ship to find our waiting luggage, where helpful team members carried it right to our DCL transportation bus. We headed back to MCO and flew home via American Airlines that evening, exhausted but full of amazing memories.
